The original was designed at 300 ppi at full scale so there won't be too many jaggies.
The final size will be 15" x 3.75". This is a BIG bumper sticker.
Of course, only the finest vinyls and dyes will be used, and the red will be close to a pantone 200.
We hope to be prepared to ship on 10/16/06. If they sell for $2.50 apiece (plus shipping and all that) the net will be over $1.50 apiece. We will pass this on to folks who get stuff to troops over seas. We are resisting doing anything official about this. This is all on a handshake basis. If you don't think we'll give the money to troops, don't buy the sticker. If you want to buy one for yourself or ten so you can keep one and sell the rest, contact us.

Another of the things I learned was that my White Anglo Saxon, Nordic ancestors were a bunch of xenophobic, chauvinistic barbarians whom it has taken centuries to civilize. Ever read the Elder Edda? It's a song cycle of child murder, werewolves, incest, and brutality.
Realizing this about those folks, I am not surprised that the noble ambition to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims was almost instantly corrupted by anti-semitic (and anti-anybody nearby who had a little spare change) atrocity. NEVERTHELESS, if it comes to taking up sides, gimme the shield with the cross on it. These days we spend money and blood to defend the Jews AND even helpless (or seemingly helpless) Muslims, as we (possibly mistakenly) did in the former Yugoslavia.
You know and I know that in some respects, in MANY respects, Jews were better off in Muslim Spain than in the Spain of Ferdinand and Isabella. That does not prevent me, NOW, from siding with Ferd and Izzie against Islamic expansionism. I don't think anyone familiar with the FACTS can say that modern Christianity has been worse for the Jews than modern Islam. Yeah, there's the famous anti-Papist Goldhagen gang. Tra La. Some people aren't happy unless they have somebody to whom they can feel so morally superior that no expression of contempt and no twisting of facts is too extreme. I try not to let people like that ruin my day.
I am grown up enough to take the good with the bad, and to think it completely ridiculous when Dubya has to fall all over himself apologizing for using the word "Crusade" in the early post 9/11 days.
If you find it offensive that I consider my current opposition to Islamic Imperial ambitions to be a part, a MUCH IMPROVED part, of a resistance of a thousand years, well, have a nice day. You can't seriously have thought that I would have printed up 250 of those stickers without anticipating a little resistance, can you? Still, where I am coming from is the raised eyebrows and lifted hems and calls for apology when Dubya used the term soon after 9-11.
And in the excellent post [ a post listing atrocities committed by crusaders -- and some other atrocities thrown in just to soften us up ] ( and, believe me we studied the atrocities of the crusaders in Seminary -- there were a few redeeming aspects to Episcopal Seminaries back in the 70's) I note the following.
1121: Jews were exiled from Flanders (now part of present-day Belgium)I readily concede that there was right much anti semitism going around and that it was despicable. That does not, to me, show that everything that happened was in all respects despicable.
1130: Some Jews in London allegedly killed a sick man. The Jewish people in the city were required to pay 1 million marks as compensation.
So, These horrible incidents, were they done by Crusaders? If so, why is it not said? If not, what is their relevance?

Right many conservatives used to support Slavery. I know Republicans who still say that slavery wasn't as bad as all that. Should I eschew the party label? Or can I celebrate the founding intentions of the party and work to further its aims?
I will celebrate the founding intention of the Crusades, to liberate territories fallen to Islamic Expansionism, and work to further their aims, and consider myself no more tarred by their anti semitic brush than I am by the racist brush of the first adult white man I ever heard use the n-word and mean it contemptuously -- a conservative, a Republican in Long Island New York.
